What are the real signficance of temperature records?
Q. When there are records for warming (e.g. warmest July on record) or weather disasters, it seems to be immediate news here and in the media. When there are records for cold or a lack of interesting weather, there is little coverage and what coverage there is reminds us about"trends". So when it comes to cooling, we have been told we need at least 10 years of trend and when that doesn't work then we need at least 30 years to show anything significant. But apparently one July of warming (land or ocean) is some indication of something, even enough apparently to "blow a sunspot theory out of the water". Is that simply more indication of the non-scientific and political nature of AGW? If the theory had any sort of firm support, none of… [cont.]

A. First of all, I think you're the last person who should be arguing about the non-scientific and political nature of AGW, since I've never seen you make a single scientific argument. In fact, I asked this question primarily in hopes that you would answer it. Secondly, it's true that a few hot months don't mean very much in the grand scheme of things. However, it's also true that a few years during which there isn't much warming doesn't mean very much in the grand scheme of things either. The bottom line is very simple. Deniers have long argued that the planet is cooling. If the planet is cooling, how can it be experiencing record hot temperatures? Both arguments are silly. The only reason AGW proponents talk about the near record… [cont.]

Is there a way to track missed calls in nokia N73?
Q. I 'm using my Nokia N73 since July this year..Usually the call records (dialled, received and missed) show the recent 20 records. At times, i find my missed calls records show only 19. This is only with missed calls, dialled and recieved show a total of 20.I wanted to know weather it can happen when I dont delete any in my records list. i understand that if two calls are from the same number they'll show as one in the list. but my problem is not that, i just wanted to find out weather some one else is deleting a missed call.

A. if two calls are from the same number they'll show as one in the list. you can change how long your phone keeps call lists by selecting tools > log > options > settings > log duration.

why is the weather so strange lately?
Q. Has anyone noticed the weird weather over the years? When Florida had a severe drought- all the sudden Africa had massive flooding. What about the lack of snow in VA? and the massive snow storms flooding the West all the sudden? Also what about all these record highs and lows we see all across the globe? It seems to me like the earth is off balance and getting worse. Maybe it is because of the "Global Warming" or maybe it is because of something else? Is it just me that notices this? There is a lot more to put here but of course I don't have the time to list all the weird weather.. I don't think it's el or la nino that's the cause of this crazy weather. It just seems that it's gradually getting worse each time the "cycle" goes through?… [cont.]

A. because people are in denial this isn't El nino which they claimed it was last year and the year before, this isn't part of a natural cycle last year was the hottest ever recorded not the hottest since last El nino freaks are going to get us all killed as they are to afraid to see there is a problem. what does insurance go by when wiping out your 3 yr record?
Q. I wanted to change my auto insurance so I checked my DMV record to see what it had listed. From a previous question I was told that it takes 3 years for DMV records to clear out a ticket given to me for an accident. I come to find out from the violation code that I was just given was a speeding ticket of 1- 10 mph over, which i guess would be better than him giving me a ticket for reckless driving, granted it was out of my control because the accident happened due to the weather. My question is: will the insurance look at the report and dismiss it 3 years from citation date or the convition date? and does dmv remove from which date also? Thanks any help will be appreciated

A. It goes by the citation date for insurance purposes. As to when the company will no longer take it into account, it depends on your state. It always stays on your DMV record.

Does anybody know any clairvoyant people that may participate in answering questions on this forum?
Q. I found only one so far who has predictted a few weather related events over the last few weeks and a couple earthquakes with uncanny accuracy. in fact he may have predicted the one that hit California, Arizona and Mexico last night several hours before it happened. first on my list is this dude who happens to be a member of this answers forum Blacksheep_Hellishot maybe it's a cleverly disguised codeword for a powerful psychic or something list anyone with this kind of track record for making paranormal predictions and I will gladly visit that site too.

A. I tend to answer some of these questions once in a while.. what is it that you're wanting to find someone for? If it's just 'cause that's kind of neat, you won't find many people that are very interested. It gets really tiring knowing these things all the times in our own lives, we don't feel like being trained monkeys for people we don't even know.

If the filer of the form is confronted with an unwarranted deduction and he or she denies the knowledge of the erroe, what is the probability that he or she is guilty? 2.most weather forecasts protest themselves very well by attaching probabilities to their forecasts like probability of rain today is 40%. then, if a particular forecast is incorrect, u are expected to attribute error to the random behavior of the weather rather… [cont.]

A. 1. From statement "Of the 5% who are guilty of cheating, 80% will deny knowledge of the error if confronted by the investigator", 4% of all are cheaters pretending innocent, therefore 4% + 2% = 6% of all will deny the knowledge of errors on incorrect deductions, so the probability the filer is guilty is 4/6 = 66.67% 2. the actual probability is 10/25 = 40%, so I would say it disagrees with the forecast (not sure on this one though)

A. The listing agent did nothing wrong. He didn't lower the price of the property. Fannie Mae did that. As well, he is contracted with Fannie to sell the house. Fannie wants that property in the MLS unless it's sold. You cancelled your offer to protect your earnest money, so the property went back on the market, as it should. Understand that sales of real estate are not considered sales, based upon your offer. The property isn't considered sold until money has changed hands and title is transferred. I'm not sure how this all put the LA in any sort of bad position, unless he got heat from the folks at Fannie over your withdrawal. Regardless, it appears that you are back on track, awaiting an acceptance. I really do not see an issue.

Genealogy/Census inquiry?
Q. I am searching for information on Esmerelda Bryant listed in the 1860 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co. Ohio census. She is also listed in the 1870 census, same place. Her father is listed as Isac Bryant [Isaac] mother Mary. and a few brothers and sisters. I'm trying to establish weather she is the Essie Bryant of that county who married Robert W. Logan in 1876 or 1877. All the dates seem to match. Do you know anything about this family? In the 1870 census, she is listed as Ezzie. Not too big a jump to Essie which is the name my grt. grandmother went by. This census has Mary as head of household. I would like copies of these two census records. Sure would appreciate any help you might afford.

A. I think that it sounds very much like Essie, was mis-spelled in the latter census form, often the spelling of names varied between census years and enumerator's, my husband has an ancestor who had the first Zephania, which varied between Zacariah, Sephania, Zephoniar, but because the name was so unusual we knew we had the right one in the 1901 census. I will email you the documents if you contact me through my profile email address, I have access to them. Would you just clarify, name , year, state, and what ever information you would like. Hope this helps you.

Does Obama being friends with a terrorist scare any of you? ?
Q. Posted 1:00 AM Eastern by Jim Kouri March 22, 2008 2008 NewsWithViews.com There is a far-reaching scandal brewing for presidential hopeful Sen. A. What is even more scary is the depiction of Ayers as a terrorist... I mean the guy was a knucklehead activist, that wanted to cause pain to what he saw as a corrupt government... But he did not have any ill will towards any citizens... In his skewed way of thinking he probably thought he was acting on our behalf... Im am not for one second implying that I don't think he was a criminal. He was and deserved to go to jail, but I would not categorize him as a Terrorist.

Going to DC in 1 month...I got questions!?
Q. Just for the record i'm thirteen, and i am going there on March 21st for 5 days on a school trip. Ok, here is where we start. What should I pack? How long is the distance from California to Virginia? What is the biggest thing to look forward to? (we are going to a list of places Washington Memorial, Air/Space, That one Smithsonian with America's pop culture, possibly a tour of the White House, Pentagon City Mall, Lincoln Memorial, a magazine building and a whole bunch of other stuff in Virginia/DC) Are the restaurants nice? I think i'm staying in a Crown Royal, is that nice? What will weather be like? What does the inside of the Washington memorial look like? and that's basically it, i'm REALLY looking forward to it!

A. I live in Virginia not far from Washington but I grew up in California. I think the biggest thing to look forward to is to stand on the Lincoln Memorial and look across the pool to the WWII Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Capital building on the other side. I like the Natural History museum, my favorite thing is the Hope Diamond and the national archive to see the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. March will be nice during the days but it might be cooler at night so I would take a sweater of jacket. Washington has many of the same restaurants that California has except we have 5 guys hamburgers (not very good) and you have In and Out (Great). Los Angeles California is 2,308 air miles from Washington. … [cont.]

A. Its the "gates" that are made up. These come from people who do not understand science. One need only look at the daily satellite data and the extraordinary warming right now to see that warming continues more rapidly even than predicted. The research is ongoing. There is still not a single published climate researcher who does not believe man is changing the climate. The only appearance of a debate is due to uneducated people being lead by polical hacks. Through it all, the ice continues to thin and the temperatures are now high than ever before recorded. Global warming is rampant.

How come Manning is still widely considered to be a better QB than Brady?
Q. I know everyone is sick of the endless "Brady vs Manning" saga, but there have been a lot of "team of the decade" and "players of the decade" lists over the past week and Peyton Manning has been chosen over Tom Brady most of the time. This is absolutely baffling to me as I think Brady is a much better quarteerback and it should at least be 50/50 between the two. Obviously, both are very talented and skilled. However, Brady has 3 superbowl rings to Manning's 1. Not to mention that he won those three before Manning won his, eventhough Manning had been in the league longer. This stat alone should make the decision to pick which quarterback an easy one. Yes, Manning puts up ridiculous numbers every time he plays, but when you ask someone in… [cont.]

A. Remember kids a Super Bowl ring is a team achievement no matter what ESPN tells you. coming into this season... Peyton Manning: 3,839-of-5,960 for 45,628 yards, 333 TD passes, 165 INT's, 309 rushing attempts, 717 rushing yards, 17 rushing TD's, 52 fumbles (17 lost), and was sacked 205 times. Tom Brady: 2,301-for-3,653 for 26,446 yards, 197 TD passes, 86 INT's, 276 rushing attempts, 533 rushing yards, 5 rushing TD's, 65 fumbles (29 lost), and was sacked 203 times. Tom Brady was 19,182 yards, 136 passing TD's, and 12 rushing TD's behind Manning at this point in time. Since he has played about four seasons less than Manning, this is what he'd need to average over his next four seasons in order to just equal Peyton's production. 4,796… [cont.]

A. Well, simply put there is an "Add content" link at the top of the left side bar where you should be able to do this. If you absolutely insist this is not there, you should contact Yahoo! for resolution. As a final point, if you are keeping all your financial records/matters on Yahoo! and you are that stressed about it might I suggest that you take better care in the future. Think to yourself "if I lose this information will it be a big loss and a source of stress?" If the answer is yes then you should not be "relying" on Yahoo!. You should have a backup of all that information and store it in a separate place. Good luck!
